2023 was a year of growth and innovation for 1001 Organic. In particular, we were able to significantly increase the number of our small farmers, which further advances our mission to strengthen fair and sustainable trade. Our partner farmers are at the heart of our business model. It is their commitment that is at the core of what we do and with our support they and their families can benefit from a better livelihood.

Some highlights from our report:

  • Expansion of our Forest -to-Kitchen initiative: direct sales through our webshop, which enables us to operate without middlemen and thus strengthen the livelihoods of farmers.
  • Launch of a sustainable packaging line: Our commitment to the environment is reflected in our new, recyclable packaging. It not only protects the products, but also underlines our responsibility for the environment.
  • Significant financial successes: The increase in investments in our smallholder farmers by 43% is a clear indication of the effectiveness of our business model.
  • From our team: Elizabeth Mwangi in a leadership position in Zanzibar and what our farmers say about us.
  • Use of land resources in Zanzibar: 65% of our forests are protected, which helps preserve the unique biodiversity and supports sustainable practices.
